Standard hydrovac trucks position near the excavation site and operate within a 200-foot hose radius. Remote excavation extends this to 400–600 feet using larger-diameter suction hoses and higher-capacity blower systems. The truck remains on accessible pavement or a staging area while the operator works at a remote location with the water lance and vacuum hose.
